Legacy 6 - the basic program is available as a free download from the Legacy website. This gives you a chance to try out the program to see if you like it.
We also stock a Deluxe edition of Legacy 6 with additional tree and report styles and with a printed manual.

There is no simple answer as each program has different features. You need some idea of what you want to do with your genealogy software.
Do you want to create family trees to share, or family books?
Do you want to add photos to your files?
Do you need to share your information with other researchers or the family?
We recommend that you bring along some basic family information to the Resource Centre and try entering it into various programs to see what suits you and your particular family data.
Review the websites which link to the software .
Read the feature lists, read reviews in genealogy magazines, talk to people about the software they use.
Download a trial version from the Internet and try typing in some information to see which program is easy to use and suits your family history data.
Tutorials available on DVD and CD
The GSC Resource Centre holds DVD and CD tutorials on many of these programs. They will help you make the best use of all the features of the program.
